Feels like 1999, when I joined J-Cut with his weekly drumandbass.de webradio show.
Now, 11 years later, it’s still the same fun to spin some tunes together and lough at each other about the stupid moderarion.
[Update]
Now on iTunes!

It’s 09.09.’09 and my 33rd birthday (no joke) and I thought I might throw a little mixtape party.
So here it comes, my first mix after 3 years of intensive family life (my sweet son).
It’s a rinsefest full of cheesy samples, just like you like it.
Check the first track, it’s an exclusive, remixed by Mr. J-Cut & myself, prepare for some german punk classic mashup.

Our friends from Tübingen just released a massive compilation called “Ambassadors 4 – From Amen to Z”.
The 2 CD / 4 Vinyl / 45 mp3 release is packed with new talents alongside old masters like Bassface Sascha, Simon V, Young Ax, Telmo A and The Green Man. Plus you will find a special radio edit of “The Flute Tune” on it.
Here are some of my favorite tracks:
Young Ax – System of a Survival

You were my hero when I was 11.
“Bad” was my first record on heavy rotation.
You made Billions of people happy, but it seems you never got enough love yourself.
Rest in Peace.

Now that’s a nice present from all you drum & bass heads! Thanks to your votes we won the future-music.net award for the best national release in 2009! I can’t believe we got more votes than Bassface Sascha, Phace, Syncopix or Polarity! But obviously you could share our vision of how a party drum & bass track should roll. Or in the words of Dogs on Acid’s khal:
“The two of these tunes are not your garden-variety Drum & Bass – these tracks take you back to the old school, where the doors of influence were wide open, and worn on our sleeves. When will more producers see that the beauty of Drum & Bass was when we explored outside of the scene, not regurgitating what’s already been done?”
Thanks again for all your support! And if you don’t have this record yet, you can get it on vinyl or mp3 at the santorin webshop.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
We had it on heavy rotation under some names, including “Flautas Felizes by Howie & Chance”, but now it will be officially labeled “J-Cut & Kolt Siewerts -The Flute Tune”.
Our release party will be on the 6. of June, so come play with us!

“Bei aktuellem Drum & Bass steht immer eine Musik im Vordergrund, darum ist Pendulum so big: das lauteste Element in ihren Tracks sind die Melodien. Darum gefällt mir, so seltsam das klingen mag, derzeit auch Jump Up am besten, denn dieser Sound ist noch real: über fetten Drums liegt eine Bassline, die zum Hauptelement wird und zugleich auch die Melodie transportiert.”
